Day nine- August 31st, 2009
Today was Monday. My favorite day. I think I am finally recovered from the jet lag. Today we had our first Art history class. It was interesting and our teachers are nice and funny. Today was also our first Travel to Learn class. It too seems like it will be an interesting class. I look forward to planning all of the amazing side trips I will be embarking on. Not much happened today. But I am still exhausted, good night.
Day Eleven- September 2nd, 2009
Today was a really fun day. I was exhausted, but I enjoyed myself. In Art history class we went to the art museum and to a church. The art museum was amazing. It had several original frescoes and I was kind of awestruck by them. It was just so fascinating to have something that old and filled with history to be that close to me. The church was even more interesting. We got to see the body of San Ranieri. Yes, a real body. As in no longer among the living. The body was seven hundred years old. They say that if you are pure of heart, mind and soul then your body will not decay. This proved true with San Ranieri. His body had barely decayed over the course of seven centuries. San Ranieri was never actually made a saint, but the people still consider him one because of his amazing healing powers. His right arm was stolen, but it is thought to have happened because people still believe in his divine healing powers. His story was one that really intrigued me. Good night.
Day Thirteen- September 4th, 2009
Today was not an exciting day at all. But that was relaxing. After Italian class we all went our separate ways. I accomplished some shopping. I also learned that when we went to lunch with John Rose and Doctor Webb that one of the meat dishes was rabbit. Just thought I should explain the blog title. Tomorrow we venture forth to Angihari and Arezzo. I am thoroughly excited. I hope to get a digital camera so that I can share pictures with you guys. I am off tonight. Good night world.
ps. Tomorrow I get to dress up in a medieval dress. It's for a centuries old Sansepolcran tradition.
